Prago is an AR calendar social media that students and staff can share calendar and school activities based on the campus of Pratt Institute. This app based on Pratt campus, all the information directly connect with each academic Building. Scan one building and know all event, lectures and public course that people shared about this building, User can also find their classmates through sharing their real time calendars. Rely on AR technic, Prago gives an interesting way to join the campus life in Pratt.
Every college has their online college self-service. In Pratt, we have "MyPratt", which helps students just check course schedule, know school event and activities. It’s good, but boring. On the other hand, almost every university has their Facebook group that students love better to public event, share information and communicate with classmates. As a part of school culture, I think students need a more attractive online community that specific belong to their school.
Only for the Pratt community and publish school event.
Students don’t use it often. It cannot share own schedule event.
Share personal calendar, send invitation.
No real-time feature; No social feature. No physical environment connected
Great experience to let students join in one online Community ，
Cannot share own schedule. No real-time feature
Great reference to use AR navigation
Interviewed with random 33 Pratt students about 3 questions:
How often do you check your MyPratt
Did you notice the event that published on Mypratt?
Do you join any online communitylike facebook group?
Jeffery is a Junior student studying Digital Arts at Pratt Institute. He loves movie and build a new film & movie community that wants share more movies to friends. But how to let his classmates and other students know his community? That’s a problem.
Based on the AR tectonic, my plan is to is create a specific Pratt campus social media that students can share schedule, public activities or event, chat with classmates or professional and more importantly, interactive with physical campus buildings.
